Gerda Taro-Octavia

A war photographer, James Nachtwey attempts to send a antiwar message by capturing the horrors of war times. While many of his images are focused on the war of terror, HIV, drug addiction and famine are among the few other topics he address through his photographs.

"I have been a witness, and these pictures are
my testimony. The events I have recorded should
not be forgotten and must not be repeated."
-James Nachtwey-

After briefly researching James Nachtwey, I came across Gerda Taro, a female photographer who took photos alongside Robert Capa during the Spanish Civil War. Only twenty-six at the time of her death, she is considered the mastermind behind a few of Capa's close up war photos.
